About
Hello my name is John, I am retired and live in Dundee.
I have two Velosolex 4600 in Orange, both are up and running.
I also have two spare engines which i am working on. one engine is running when i borrow a flywheel from one of the orange bikes. As you may have guessed the flywheel key is sheared on number one spare engine and also on number two spare engine. i have milled a 3mm slot in the flywheel, taking care with the positional accuracy. I will make a key to suit very shortly.
update 12 May 2020 made a key and fitted modified flywheel. Flywheel fits taper as it should and key is visible in its new slot. Engine runs as it should and all appears well on he short test ride.
The second spare engine is a bit further back, having been stored in damp conditions without its cylinder head. The piston is seized in the barrel, so i am here on the forum to find replacement parts from one of the vendors advertising on the Home page - any recommendations?
