Hello Solex People
Around ascension day 2019 , our club, the Mofa- and Mopedfriends from Duisburg, have decided to visit the area left of Arnhem, near Oosterbeek.
I started to organize the event and was looking for an accommodation. My first experience to find a campsite was bad. I phoned with Camping Warnsborn, they don’t like groups, even the people are over 50 years old. Pavillon tents and barbecues are forbidden.
Then, I found an old campsite, founded in 1958. It is located close to river Nederrijn surrounded with meadows next to a farm. It has 35 camping pitches.
The most important thing is, that we are welcome there as a group and we will occupy approx. ten camping pitches.
Campsite „De Boersberg“

Reception is open Monday to Saturday: 9am to 12 noon. 1:30pm to 8pm.
The woman from the reception said, she will do her best that we all can have our camping pitches close together. The sanitary facilities at the campsite are equipped with underfloor heating. Showers and hot water for washing the dishes are included in the price.
Dora's meadow has more than six extra large camping pitches.
Arendjes meadow is for tents.
Berthas meadow has tvelve large camping pitches.
Claras meadow has 14 camping pitches for vehicles with awning.
All camping pitches has power boxes up to 6 ampere power consumption.
The campsite has no store, but there are supermarkets in a distance of 2km. Our goal is always at the day of arriving to built up tents and caravans and then we will buy some meals with our solexes etc.

For people who need a more comfortable accomodation, there is located the hotel Doorwerth-Arnhem in a distance of only 800 meters from the campsite. It belongs to the Fletcher Hotel Group:
Wednesday, 29th of May:
After building up tents or caravans we will buy some food. Then we will make an opening ride along the water channels (25km)
Thursday, 30th of May:
We are going to make the six-towns-ride again .(35km) This ride was done during the 70th velosolex anniversary in Oosterbeek at pentecost.
Friday, 31st of May:
We will make the 70km ride, like during 70th velosolex anniversary. The route will take us both north and south of the river Nederrijn. At half of the way, we will have lunch at a restaurant. I have downloaded the gpx-files of the rides, so it will we be easy to ride the exact route with a navigation device.
Saturday, 1st of June:
There ia also a velosolex club beside Oosterbeek, called Pegalex. Their chairman, Frank Vonck was the leading organizer of the Velosolex anniversary there. I have sent him a mail, asking if it is possible to make a ride together with some Dutch solex riders from Pegalex.
The ascension Thursday in Holland is not a holiday, therefore most of the people will be Friday at work. Therefore, I recommended to Frank the Saturday for a common ride. He answered, he will try to organize an official ride for that day. He can't make any promises, but let us hope for the best. I hope we can make a break during the ride to visit the old Doorwerth-Castle at river Nederrijn.
Sunday, 2nd of June:
Ready for departure, exept those people of us which will stay up to Monday, they could make another ride. We are riding not only velosolexes, but also Kreidler, Zundapp, Hercules or Piaggio. People with mopeds (45kph) are also welcome at our rides but they will be kindly asked to adjust their speed to the other riders.
In the evenings, we will relax in our pavillon tent with a long table and we will have barbeques, of course. Whene the day comes to an end, we will talk about the experiences of the day and I think we will have, as usual, petrol talks with good vibrations.
We would love it to have some members of Velosolex Club UK with us on our rides.
If you like to share these rides with us, don’t hesitate and notice me at:
